Academically I hold bachelor degrees in Sociology and Nursing, and am currently a student in the Masters of Jewish Studies program of MJTI. Professionally I work as a cardiac intensive care nurse.
I am a member of Congregation Zera Avraham in Ann Arbor, MI, where I served for many years on the Board, and coordinate its Shabbat School. I also served as President and founding member of Nachalat Nashim - an organization dedicated to promoting ongoing education, Jewish prayer, and Hebrew literacy for women in the MJ movement.
The MJRC
I've seen MJRC evolve -- from a small group of guys (and a few gals) who wrestled over the basics as well as the minutiae of halakhic observance -- to a community of Messianic Jewish rabbis and associate members who are growing in their commitment to a vibrant, halakhic Messianic Jewish life. The issues that this council has tackled - from standards for basic observance, conversion, to the need for guidelines for congregations to survive as Jewish entities -- are essential for a viable future as a Messianic Jewish community. Personally, and corporately, we need help to live as Messianic Jews both spiritually and practically. I need guideposts to encourage faithfulness in prayer and practice every day. As an associate member, I have taken seriously the commitment to a halakhic way of life - from waking until going to bed. I have a long way to go, but the MJRC has so helped me on this corporate journey.
