While serving as the UMJC Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Chenoweth expanded the enrollment, scope, and faculty of the leadership training program which became the UMJC Madrikh Leadership Program. He served on the Administrative Committee of the Messianic Jewish Theological Institute in the area of curriculum development. Rabbi Chenoweth is a founding board member of Hashivenu, sponsor of annual leadership forums in Israel and California. In semi-retirement, Rabbi Chenoweth continues as an active member of the UMJC Credentials Committee, the Hashivenu Board, and the MJRC.

My perspective on MJRC membership

The halakhic standards essential to the integrity of the Messianic Jewish community are best defined in collegial conference among our rabbinical peers. Implementing and practicing such standards reinforces   identity and promotes stability in the community as a whole. This is a compelling reason for qualified Messianic Jewish leaders to join the MJRC and participate in its essential work.

I believe that faithful observance of Shabbat halakhic practices, while building an essential spiritual commitment, generates joyful memories and binds the family together, as habit establishes a lifelong standard by which to evaluate and respond wisely to often conflicting appeals for our time. When a family is faithful to the halakhic practice of Shabbat and welcomes others to join them, the community as a whole is strengthened and will benefit. This can ensure the legacy of these values dor l'dor.
