Rabbi Nathan was ordained by the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC) in January 2012 and the MJRC shortly thereafter. He received a Master in Jewish Studies from the Messianic Jewish Theological Institute (MJTI) and a BM from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Rabbi Nathan and his wife Raina enjoy bustling family life in the Boston area with their seven children!
Why I think the MJRC is so important?
All Jews have a calling from God to live as Jews. But thinking and living Jewishly needs to be done in the framework of a community, not on our own. (Of course, as Messianic Jews we also have a calling to bear witness to Yeshua within the larger Jewish world and to actively participate in the larger Messianic body.) We must embrace our need to approach the larger Jewish world corporately, as a community of Messianic Jews and not only as individuals. In order to do that we must come together around shared perspectives on Messianic Jewish life and practice. What the MJRC provides is critical — a communally meaningful, workable framework for living a Jewish life in Yeshua that can commend to our congregations.
